Agustín Fernández León works part time on this personal and exciting project that he founded and named “Literary DNA”, which started in 2010 with some ideas and questions:
“With today’s computational power we should be able to perform in depth analyses of books and be able to discover hidden patterns and style characteristics inherent and unique to each author or specific groups of authors”
“Does every writer unconsciously leave traces of his or her unique writing style in every text he or she writes?”
“Can a sort of an author’s literary DNA be extracted from comparing stylistic quantitative analyses of his or her books”
Moved by his passion and curiosity to find answers to these questions, and after obtaining very positive and interesting results with the first prototypes of Literary DNA analysis tools, Agustín created the Literary DNA company. Literary DNA (also named “ADN Literario” in Spanish) is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce with license number 75694557 since August 2019.
Agustín is a physicist specialised in micro-electronics graduated from Universidad Complutense of Madrid and with a master’s degree from North Carolina State University. After working for nine years as microchip designer for Alcatel in Madrid Agustín moved to the Netherlands in 2000 to work as microelectronics expert in the European Space Research and Technology Centre of the European Space Agency.
